ICE - In Case of Emergency
|
In case an accident or medical emergency leaves you unable to communicate, how will Police, Fire or Ambulance personnel know who to contact?
Are you prepared?
ICE is an internationally recognized acronym used as a name in your cell phone contact list that police, fire and ambulance can use to reach the appropriate contact in case of emergency. If you are unable to communicate to first responders, your ICE contact could be a family member, a translator, a social worker, or any other person who can speak on your behalf.
For children, seniors and those without cell phones, wallet sized ICE cards are available free from all of Vancouver’s Community Policing Centres. In case an accident or medical emergency leaves you unable to communicate, ICE will speak for you to first responders.
All residents should program an emergency contact into their cell phone or carry an ICE card in their wallet or backpack.
Add ICE to your cell phone now! Come into the WECHCPC to pick up free ICEcards for you, your children and elderly relatives.

The West End - Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre is a non-profit organization. We are core funded by the City of Vancouver, but our expenses reach far beyond the "core" funding we receive. Without the support of the community, fundraising, and donations, our office wouldn`t be where it is today. If you would like to sponsor or donate to our organization, please contact
info@wechcpc.com for more information. Your donations help us with everything from office equipment, foot and bike patrol essentials, uniforms, and the most basic necessities such as heat and power. Thank you to everyone who supports our Centre!
Do you own a dog? Your everyday routine can help combat crime and disorder in our neighbourhood!!
The Pooch Patrol is one of the most easily accessible programs that we offer and is a great way for busy dog owners to volunteer with the West End-Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre. This group of dedicated human/canine teams help make our community safe by observing and reporting any suspicious activities they might encounter while on their regular walking route. Like Foot and Bike Patrol, Pooch patrollers report abandoned cars, vandalism, graffiti and other questionable activity around parks and schools to the CPC. As the eyes and ears of the neighbourhood, they can also report simple things like burnt out streetlights or overflowing garbage.
Pooch Patrol -- Dogs with Jobs! No dog is exempt from duty!!
Pooch Patrols allow our neighbourhood canines a chance to perform a great community service. It also gives more sociable dog owners a chance to meet other local dog people and their canine companions as part of a group of interesting, fun volunteers.
Pooch Patrollers play a huge role in keeping our neighbourhood safe and are a valuable asset. If you are willing to log the time spent on your neighbourhood dog walks, you are encouraged to participate in our program. Volunteer hours are reported to the Office Coordinator each month either by email or telephone.
