Minimum Volunteer Age

March 20th, 2008

The minimum age to volunteer with our office has been changed from 19 years of age to 18 years of age.  Stop by our office at 1267 Davie Street for more information on volunteering and to fill out an application form.


Office Closure

March 12th, 2008

The office will be closed from Friday March 21st to Sunday March 23rd.  We will be open on Monday March 24th.


New Office Coordinator

We are proud to announce that Jesse Miller is our new Office and Volunteer Coordinator for the WECHCPC.  Jesse joins us with a vast experience in community policing.  Welcome aboard Jesse!

Better Business Bureau Warnings

Davie Days

Come join us on Davie Street for Davie Days.  The street will be closed down between Thurlow and Jervis for fun and festivities.  Stop by our office to take a peeek at our open house.


WECHCPC Grand Opening

July 15th, 2007

We are celebrating our recent transition to our new location at 1267 Davie Street. We want to show the community our appreciation for supporting our Centre and offer an opportunity to everyone to see what we do!  The West End - Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre is hosting a GRAND OPENING on Sunday July 15th, 2007 from 12pm to 4pm.  Stop by 1267 Davie Street for a BBQ, Police Presentations, Mini-POPAT for kids, and to meet other members of the Community.  Jervis Street will be closed between Davie St. and Pendrell St.  Be sure to stop by!


Office Coordinator Position Now Closed

The job posting for Office Coordinator is now closed.  We are pleased to announce that Natasha Gangwani was the successful applicant for the position.  Natasha will be working part time in the office start Tuesday May 22nd.


Our Office has MOVED!!

April 14th, 2007

The WECHCPC has moved its location from 1135 Davie Street to 1267 Davie Street.  The move will introduce a larger operational space while at the same time maintain a key location in the heart of David Village.  The WECHCPC services and patrols the area West of Burrard Street which includes the West End, Coal Harbour and Stanley Park.  Stop by our office and take a look at our new location.  If you are interested in volunteering we are actively recruiting individuals from all walks of life to be involved with our organization.  Stop by for more information.


The WECHCPC is moving!

April 4th, 2007

As previously mentioned several months back, the WECHCPC secured a new office space at 1267 Davie Street.  Our renovation work at the new office is almost finished and we are preparing to move in.  We will be moving from our current location at 1135 Davie Street to 1267 Davie Street on April 14th and 15th.  We hope to have minimal disruption in our operation during this transition.  Our phone system will be offline from the 13th to the 15th during the move.  With this significantly larger office space we will better be able to serve the residents in the community by offering additional programs in the near future.  If you are interested in volunteering please drop by the office and pick up an application form. 


Volunteer Recruitment!

The WECHCPC is always seeking new members from the community to volunteer with our organization.  Individuals from all walks of life and all age groups are welcome to apply to be apart of our diverse team.  We are looking to expand our program base and require additional volunteers to assist us with our plans.  If you are interested in helping us out visit the VOLUNTEER page for more information.


2007 Funding Approved

April 4th, 2007

City Council approved funding for all of the Vancouver CPC's on April 3, 2007.  We are pleased with this announcement as City funding is an integral part of all CPC's operations.  We are committed to maintaining a positive relationship with the City, VPD, ICBC and the Community and meet the targets set forth.  If you would like more information regarding the City Council's decision and report you can review the document at the City's website by clicking here.

IMPACT (Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team) has released the TOP TEN most wanted car thieves.  Go to WWW.BAITCAR.COM to view the top ten list.  Contact your local police department if you have information of the whereabouts of any of these individuals.

Office Hours Changed

WANTED Initiative Successful!

The total number of individuals apprehended as a result from the VPD's WANTED initiative is up to 18!!  Thank you for everyone that has provided the VPD with information leading to the apprehension of these individuals.  If you would like to help out and view pictures of individuals that have warrants for their arrest, visit the Vancouver Police Department's webpage at www.vpd.ca and click on the WANTED picture on the right hand side.

Date Rape Drugs

Be Safe, Be Seen!

November 22nd, 2006

Be Safe and Be Seen!  With poor weather and less daylight, pedestrians need to be extra careful while crossing streets.  November and December are the worst months for pedestrians to be hit by vehicles.  Make sure you wear bright clothing and look for cars before crossing the street.  Motorists also need to ensure to decrease their speed during poor visibility and make sure they pay extra attention to the road and look ahead.


WANTED Initiative Catches More Suspects

The Vancouver Police Department have been able to capture 3 more individuals from the WANTED initiative.  This makes a total of 13 individuals with outstanding warrants that have been captured thanks to your tips!  Click here to be taken to the Vancouver Police Department webpage.  Once you are there click on the WANTED picture on their webpage to view pictures of individuals that you can help catch!


WANTED Webpage Launch

Thanks to help and tips from the public, the Vancouver Police have been able to apprehend 10 individuals on their newly launched WANTED webpage.  CLICK HERE to be taken to the Vancouver Police Department webpage where you can view the pictures of more than 80 individuals that have outstanding warrants for arrest.  Click on the WANTED picture on the right hand side once at the VPD webpage to be taken to the site.  Keep the tips coming!
